I just ordered Chinese delivery, and I usually get the Orange Chicken or General Tso's Chicken. But today I felt like trying something totally new. I did not have time to look and think beforehand because I was being rushed to order by a family member who was also ordering. So, I took a chance and ordered the Hunan Beef. I have never tried it. While I am waiting for it to get here I thought I would ask if it is any good.

Oh my...

Okay, so Hunan is neither a spice, nor a typo of "human." It is a region of China, with the idea being that "Hunan Beef" is beef that has been in cooked in the style of cuisine from the Hunan province. My personal experiences with it have been great, but every North American restaurant will have their own take on it, so it's hard to say if yours will be any good. Usually, it is heavy on the chilis and ginger, and you may even find it to be fairly similar to dishes like "Szechuan Beef," which is also named after a Chinese region and also leans towards spicy.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hunan is just a spice, kinda reminds me of red pepper, The beef will be cooked the same way as chicken just the spice is added close to the end..I personally like the hunan chicken better but my sis always orders the beef.

Human beef is pretty good. Most of the time the human is a free-range human, and despite that, they spend most of their time on the TV couch, so the meat is tender and marbleized with fat.
