I'm doing a foods report and we only need to talk about the food itself but i would like to say where they get their fish from to so that its another thing to talk about.

They use fish native to the waters around Australia, white fish like Hoki, Baramundi, Sea bass, Groupers, South Pacific cod and even shrimp and slipper lobsters.

Our fish shops sell, usually, cod, flathead, snapper, sweet lip, barramundi, mullet, whiting, john dory, ling, flake (shark), bream, coral trout, sand crabs, mud crabs, prawns from small bay prawns to king prawns or banana prawns, calamari, scallops & baby octopus. A lot of fish species that are local to the coastal town/city would be sold locally before exporting anywhere else. Tasmania has good salmon, but they aren't swimming around near Brisbane. Western Australia has lots of lobsters. There are also tuna farms down in the waters off South Australia. A lot of our good fish gets exported to Asia and Japan etc. Fish over here, good fresh fish can be $35 per kilo (2lb2oz). Most people can't afford to eat it as often as they would like. I'd bet money on the cheap cod you get at the fish and chip shops is imported from somewhere else at around $4 a piece.

Australia is an "island", a land formation type that is surrounded by sea. More than half of the fish Australians consume comes from the water.
("Fish & chips" is something they typically eat in Britain, not Australia...)

I guess ....hmmmmm...there is a lot of ocean around Australia. That may be the right place to get fish...don't you think???

Since Australia is surrounded by ocean, that would be a pretty safe bet.
