Yes, curries are so many and there are different ways to prepare it. Here is one simple recipe, but very tasty... It was my first North Indian curry I've learned... It's prepared with Patak's curry paste. You can get in any indian store. I do curries almost every day, and chicken curry is really great with this one. Here how I make.

Chicken legs (you can take boneless meat, but bones give great taste)

1 onion diced

2 tomatoes diced

1/4 teaspoon of cumin and 1/4 of fennel

ginger - garlic past 1 teaspoon

sour cream 1 table spoon

Curry paste 2 table spoons

fresh coriander

Remove skin from legs and wash it with turmeric. And then make holes in chicken lengthwise. Warm saucepan. Add oil (2 spoons), add cumin and fennel seeds, wait till they release aroma, add onions. Fry till they are transparent and add ginger-garlic paste. Fry till you don't have a raw smell and add chicken. Fry each side for 2 minutes and the add tomatoes. Cover saucepan and cook for 5 minutes. Once you open the cover, mix everything and add curry paste. 1 - 1 1/2 cup of water. I wrote 2 table spoons, but could be more... The sauce should be turned in red at the top... Cover it and cook it till chicken is fully cooked. Then add sour cream, mix it. Turn it off and then add fresh cilantro leaves. Good with basmati rice.

Yes, you can add mushrooms.. Very tasty with it!

For the '' indian curry, there is a bottle already made up'' at walmart, 'Etnic food section", I made it 2 days ago, and got my husband hooked on.

Very good... follow recipe in the bottle. i did cooked the vegetables first, and stir fried the chicken! The secret?

dont over cooked the chicken. when the pink in the chicken is out trow in the stew. then trow the bottle sauce on top. cook another 10 minutes on low.

Ps: I like to cook ''Bastami rice at my home, taste and smell 'way better than regular rice''.

Chicken and Potato curry.

1 whole chicken Chicken (can be with bone or boneless : with bone are better as thet make the curry tastier)

5 - 6 Potatoes (peeled and cutted into 4)

5 T curry powder

1 large onion (diced)

Lots of coriander leaves

1T coriander powder.(chopped)

salt and pepper

Oil

Few green chillies

2T ginger and garlic paste.

5T tomato paste

100g plain unsweetned yoghurt (optional)

Half boil the potatoes on salted water. leave aside.

Put chicken in a deep recipient to cook.

- In another pan, heat oil and add diced onion, garlic and ginger paste salt and pepper and tomato paste and coriander powder. Cooked till soft.

- Mix curry powder with 1 cup water to form a paste. If you wish add more water to make sauce lighter (depending on your choice).

-Add curry sauce to the mixture in pan and continue on cooking the sauce while stirring regularly.

-By this time, stop the cooking of chiken. Chiken should be half cooked. Leave chicken is a cool place. remove pan lid so that chicken doesnt continue on cooking.

Finally Put in the half cooked potatoes in the cooking curry sauce and add half cooked chicken. Allow to cook fully on medium heat.On the last 5 mins: stir in the whole green chillies. Stir occasionally.

If you now want to have a creamy curry sauce, after cooking, pour in the 100g yoghurt in the gravy. It will turn creamy.

Mix in the chopped coriander leaves.

serve hot with rice along with a tomato chutney

Enjoy!

Curry is the powdered mix of spices and there are plenty of recipes. Curry is also the dish made with that mix of powdered spices. Try a few before you settle on one because there are many mixes and many recipes.
