Can I get sick if I reheat Pad Thai (Thai food) to keep it hot?

My girlfriend's Mum brought home some Thai food (Pad Thai), that they had just made and it was only 30 minutes old after cooking, and had been in a secured plastic container. When it came home, I wanted it to be hotter, so I stuck it in the microwave for 1 minute. Is that okay? Is that safe? And will I get sick? When the food arrived it was not cold whatsoever, it was warm-hot. I just heated it up so that when I touched the noodles, it was painful after a second of touching it.

You can reheat it after some days, if it's been properly cooked to start with and then kept in a fridge.

It takes time for bugs to get in - and only if it's not airtight after cooking.

(That's why canned foods keep forever; the final "cooking" is after the can is sealed).

Even if a few get in as it's an open container, it takes more time for them to develop to any harmful level - and a lot longer if refrigerated.

You can keep eg. a stew in a pan forever, if you boil it up every day or so to prevent bugs breeding in it; it was common at one time to keep a soup or stew for weeks at a time, taking portions out and adding extra veg/meat/grain/water to build it up again.

eat up, but what you could have done

reheat it but not in the plastic container "other microwave dish than a plastic container"

sounded like mined: I got it all ready on the table, then I sat around the t.v. few minutes because it came straight out of the microwave.
