What is your favorite greek food?

I like Greek salad, gyros, and to drink, ouzo.

Last summer, my sister and I visited Greece and ended up spending most of our time there in a tiny little village on the coast. During our stay, we ended up befriending a pastry chef/baker who lived there and eating breakfast at his shop every morning. Greece in the early morning is beautiful, and sitting at a little cafe in the warm summer air eating a Greek pastry and drinking a cappucino is an experience I will never forget. =) Unfortunately, I must confess I don't remember the names of the pastries we ate. Some were similar to a French pain au chocolat, some were filled with jam and preserves, and others were sticky with almonds and honey. They were so good! Some other favorite foods we ate while we were there included the local baklava (dripping with honey), the fresh Greek salads with tomatoes, olives, onions and cucumbers, and the chicken gyros slathered in tzatziki that we got at a tiny little restaurant on the town's main street.=)
