Dog meat tends to be on the dark side, and tastes a bit like wild game, similar perhaps to venison, deer or pheasant. It can be very fatty, although it depends on how it is cooked. In a soup it may taste rich and add to the broth, while barbecued dog tastes similar to goat. In addition, the texture can be quite stringy, although I suppose this might depend on the breed of dog.
Cat meat on the other hand is quite light, white in color and tastes a bit like chicken or turkey. It is not particularly fatty, and is in fact rather lean.

Well, years ago, I ate some very good "chicken" in a Vietnamese restaurant that was later closed down because it was cooking cats... It tasted somewhere between chicken and rabbit, as I recall. Not as fatty as chicken.
I've been told by all my friends from other countries where they eat dogs (which I don't like) that it tastes kind of like goat (which I like), so I'm looking forward to the day when some crafty chef from another country starts chopping up all these high-strung purebred spoiled pet dogs and doing something useful with them. I hope it's a Trinidadian, because I love curry goat and roti! lol

It strange that I know this but I lived in the Philippines for years and when someone offers you the little they have you eat it, thank them, and pray later. lol
Dog meat tastes similar to the dark meat of turkey maybe a bit more gamy. The cat meat I had was ground up and tasted like pork. You can't just eat cat, they are very stringy.

You might ask a Korean, or an Eskimo. Both eat dogs. Many foreign countries eat dog meat regularly. Some even serve it in restaurants
