I've traveled all over the world and have sampled cuisine from every continent and would like to hear what your favorite(s) is/are.

Japanese food is the best in the world. French food is # 2, but just barely. You just can't tell how good these two countries cook until you go there. There are great American counterparts, but NOTHING matches what you get in these countries.

And both do so incredibly well when you go to some run-down looking old shack that has 40 year old tables and counters. You can't miss wherever you go.

Traditionally, for complexity and appeal the cuisines of China, France and Mexico have been considered the best. Of course, by Mexican, I don't mean Tex-Mex, but the incredibly varied dishes from southern Mexico.

Thinking it over, India should be in there too. And Morocco. And...

I'm a food lover... anything goes!

To be specific though, here are some of those I have in mind (according to preference):

-Mexican

-German

-Scandinavian

-Japanese/Korean (I know they are different, but I look at them at almost the same way)

-Indian (a fusion of northern and some southern dishes)

-Chinese (well, some dishes)

-Turkish/Mediterranean (haven't tasted much, but I still love them)

-Italian

-Thai (though I'm Thai, its still not on top of my list)

Looking back at the list... would you also agree that food can be used to promote world peace?

Just a thought, though. In the middle of the wars and hatred of the world we live in, we still share a common thing ---culture and food!

Chinese cuisine. You can have Chinese food fried, stir-fried, steamed, baked, grilled, boiled, double-boiled, salty, sweet, sweet and sour, spicy, bland, Cantonese, Szechuan, Hakka, Shanghainese, Hainanese, etc., etc., you name it, they've got it.

Japanese is another firm favourite. As is Thai cuisine.

French is reknowned for fine dining, though.

Mine will be Cheese Enchiladas, yet this variety of vast volume of places have undesirable sauce. ill answer for my hubby and children, the palms down popular is spaetzle from Germany, he's from swabia and likes them best served with grated Emmentaler cheese.

I spent time in Mexico, Central America, and South America(upper region). They are all different in ways, but I love all the latin american foods. The way they eat and the graciousness was wonderful too.

im not a Chinese but their cuisine rocks! i mean it from their street foods to the fine dining HongKong style, from the conventional to the fear factor recipe, noodles and dimsums too... truly versatile.
